After recording the book's condition, the staples were removed from the spine and the cover and interiors were then separated.  This book had some previous restoration attempts, so these were removed.  To flatten the cover, it was humdified and torn areas then repaired or reinforced.  Any missing areas of the cover were infilled and all infilled areas of the cover were inpainted to recreate missing artwork and graphics.  The staples on this book were not original, so they were replaced with staples of similar vintage and  the entire book was then reassembled and pressed.
