Advertising Poster for L and M Cigarettes

The edges of this poster were "protected" with a red vinyl tape which hid a portion of the image including some copyright text from the publisher.  After documentation of the posters condition, the colors were tested for stability with a range of solvents.  Suitable solvents were found that would remove the tape and lighten the pen ink but not affect the color of the poster itself.  After the tape was removed from the edges of the poster, the ink stains were treated and any missing paper was infilled.  All infilled areas of the cover were then inpainted to recreate missing artwork and graphics.
