Marvel Mystery Comics Annual                     

Like the Captain America Annual, this square-bound book needed to have the cover removed before any extensive repairs could be undertaken.  After the cover was removed (by dissolving the original binding adhesive) it was dry-cleaned to remove most of the surface dirt and discoloration.  Then any torn areas were repaired or reinforced and the various missing areas of the cover were then infilled with suitable papers.  All infilled areas of the cover were inpainted to recreate missing artwork and graphics. When the cover was fully restored, it was then reattached using an archival adhesive (instead of the traditional adhesive used by the original binder) and the entire book was then pressed.
