To begin, I removed the brittle and aged tape from the cover. The paper underneath had been discolored by the adhesive over the years to green. I reinforced the area of the spine that was damaged, infilled where needed and then recolored the areas that were damaged. The infilled and damaged areas of the cover were then recoated, the final book was refolded and pressed.
