Superman Comics #2

While every project can be improved to look as good as possible, often I am asked to just stabilize an item in its current condition, with little or no additional aesthetic work.  Such was the case for this copy of Superman #2.  Once the cover and interiors were separated, the cover was dry-cleaned to remove some of the surface dirt that was disfiguring the cover.  Both the cover and interiors were humidified to remove a slight spine-roll and then any torn areas were repaired or reinforced.  Any missing areas of paper on the spine were infilled, and then all infilled areas of the cover were inpainted to recreate missing artwork and graphics.  The staples on this book were replaced with staples of appropriate vintage  and then the book was reassembled and pressed.
